The face is fake, the glow is real: Halloween with uGlow

Halloween is the one night of the year when nobody cares what your face looks like - the scarier the better. But the skin around the makeup still matters. Your neck, your shoulders, your arms. That's where a glow does its quiet work.

This year Siobhan went all out with two looks: a half skeleton with a sewn-up smile, and a glam clown with pink cheeks and painted tears. Underneath both? uGlow Clear Tanning Water.

Why a clear tan works under a costume

Most Halloween outfits are close-fitting, dark or both - and they're usually borrowed, hired or worn once a year. The last thing you want is a tan rubbing off onto them.

uGlow is a clear tanning water. There's no colour guide sitting on top of your skin, so there's no colour guide to transfer onto clothes or bedding. You spritz it on, blend it with the mitt, and the colour develops gently over the next 6-8 hours.

How to time it for Halloween

  • A day or two before: exfoliate, then apply uGlow Tanning Water and blend with the mitt.
  • Want it deeper? Apply again the next day.
  • On the night: do your makeup as normal. Your glow carries on everywhere the face paint stops.
  • After the party: your colour lasts 7-10 days, so it's there for the photos and the week after.

What's in the bottle

uGlow is vegan, cruelty-free and made in the UK, with hyaluronic acid in the formula. It has no added fragrance, and only a minimal odour. It's also rated 91% Excellent on Yuka - independently rated.
