uGlow exists because Louise Cooper, an engineer turned salon owner, refused to accept that a tan had to be messy, smelly and orange.
An engineer in the treatment room
Louise started out as a quality and process-improvement engineer, the kind of person who always asks “how could this work better?” She went on to build and sell tanning and beauty salons and training academies.
In the treatment room, she saw the same problems every day. Spray tan meant a stained tent, a creosote-coloured mist and a smell “like digestive biscuits”. Then came the orange grout, the orange toilet seats and the orange bedding.
We took the colour guide out
So Louise took the process apart, like any engineer would. She found the problem: the colour guide, the dye added so you can see where the tan has gone. It isn't needed for the tan itself, and it gets in the way of a natural result.
Her answer was a clear tanning water with hyaluronic acid, and a way of applying it that doesn't rely on seeing colour. That became Clear Water Technology, and uGlow Intelligent Tanning.
From treatment room to home
